Schedule For Furniture Connoisseurship Series

April. 11th & 12th, 2008

The Appraisal Furniture Detective

This lecture focuses on the differences between period "style", fake and new furniture, from tools to wood and finishes. This enables the student to identify and understand when a piece is right, or a copy, adapted or somewhere in between.

Students will experience demonstrations and examples of tooling and all individual components, and how each relates to the visual and functionality of a successful piece of furniture.
