BERKS COUNTY KAS
Two door, five drawer Berks County Kas, Kutztown, Pennsylvania, circa 1783.

The Kas is an amalgamation of Germanic elements of a Dower Chest and an open Cupboard. This important form functioned as a clothes closet in Pennsylvanian-Dutch homes. Our replica features five ample drawers in the chest section, supported by well-developed hand carved bracket ogee feet. The top section has six formidable raised panels on each door. The two doors are of mortis and tenon joint construction, held together by wooden pegs. The sides have elegant raised panels. The top section is accentuated by dominant crown moulding. The interior can be adapted for contemporary considerations.

LANCASTER COUNTY LINEN PRESS
Tiger-Maple Linen Press, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, circa 1780.

Another common Germanic design featuring Tombstone panel doors in the upper section and a four drawer lower section. This form is framed by a perfectly balanced crown moulding complimented by gracefully carved bracket ogee feet. The interior may be fitted for a variety of functions or used for its original purpose, storing linen.

DUTCH CUPBOARD
Tiger-maple glass-door cupboard, Rural Pennsylvania, circa 1733.

The upper section of this sophisticated cupboard expresses utilitarian form with refined vertical elements: A pair of six paned glass doors, restoration glass, crowned by a stately overhanging cornice, cockbeading and painted in a flat egg shell color. The base section offers three hand dovetailed drawers, a pair of raised paneled doors, H brass hinges and two adjustable plated-grooved shelves.

CHESTER COUNTY TALL CHEST

The stoic presence of this functional piece exemplifies the best aspect of form and design. Just listing its attributes does nothing to express the total demeanor of this striking and spacious structure. Construction characteristics: The Three-and Two-drawer arrangement in the upper portion adds stylistic diversity and versatility, followed by four spacious graduated drawers, framed by eloquently raised side panels; generously expressive crown moulding, terminating in solid and dynamic bracket ogee feet.

BUREAU NIGHTSTAND

This variation of the Philadelphian bureau offers the same composition and proportion for alternative use. With the same construction characteristics we offer a four drawer or a one drawer and door as an option.

PHILADELPHIA FIVE DRAWER CHEST

DOUBLE BUREAU

The same construction elements of the Chippendale bureau are applied in this variation. There are three drawers in the top horizontal row and two vertical banks of descending drawers. This form is constructed with the notion that satisfying contemporary needs can be executed with exquisite style.
